[99mtc]tc-hydroxydiphosphonate uptake in soft tissue is associated with amyloid load in subcutaneous abdominal fat tissue and mortality in wild-type transthyretin amyloidosis patients

HIGHLIGHTS

  • What: The aim of this cohort study was to investigate whether intensity of radiotracer uptake in soft tissue reflects amyloid load as measured by subcutaneous abdominal fat tissue aspirates and whether the intensity of myocardial radiotracer uptake on bone scintigraphy and at various extracardiac sites is associated with mortality. In this study, extracardiac radiotracer uptake at various sites was compared between ATTRwt amyloidosis patients and non-amyloid heart failure controls.
  • Who: Hendrea Sanne Aletta Tingen from the Department Nuclear Medicine and Molecular University Medical Center Groningen, Hanzeplein, GZ Groningen, The Netherlands have published the research . . .
