The effects of language proficiency and awareness of time limit in animated vs. text-based situational judgment tests

  • What: This study examined the influence of SJT type and awareness of time limit against the background of language proficiency in a quasi high-stakes setting. In a first step, the authors aimed to (partially) replicate the findings of Brown et_al on a larger sample with a higher proportion of non-native speakers in the German context of medical school admissions. The research questions (RQ1b, RQ1c) aimed to explore whether awareness of time limit serves as a means to diminish subgroup differences.
