- What: This study attempted to compare machine_learning models for the classification of mating type and metalaxyl response in P. infestans using SSR markers. The study shows a statistically significant association between the SSR marker alleles and metalaxyl response/mating type phenotypes, which opens up the possibility for the use of a slow-evolving SNP-based markers for the identification of both traits.
