HIGHLIGHTS
- What: The authors characterized two novel recombinant LRR-proteins, encoded by the genes LIC11051 and LIC11505, identified in the genome sequences of L interrogans serovar Copenhageni (Nascimento et_al, 2004a,b) and in the global proteome of the same strain (Malmström et_al, 2009). The study showed that the rLIC11505 protein binds significantly to ECM components such as collagen type I, fibronectin, and GAGs (Chagnot et_al, 2012), which may be associated with pathogenicity, as observed in other organisms (Tomlin and Piccinini, 2018).
