Fragmentation of care in breast cancer: greater than the sum of its parts

HIGHLIGHTS

  • What: The authors aimed to identify factors associated with FC, time to treatment, and survival outcomes in patients with breast cancer. The authors explore the independent effects on survival according to treatment delay and FC. Lastly, compared to the work by Gamboa et_al which described increased mortality experienced by breast cancer patients receiving FC in Colombia, the study designs and patient populations are quite dissimilar which could explain variability in the results of these two studies.
