An improved hybrid genetic-hierarchical algorithm for the quadratic assignment problem

  • What: In this paper for the solution of the quadratic assignment problem (QAP) is presented. In , a so-called Harris hawk optimization algorithm is proposed, which is a nature (bio)-inspired heuristic optimization algorithm. Before describing the principle of functioning of the improved genetic-hierarchical algorithm, the authors provide some (basic) definitions for the sake of more clarity. In the experiments, the authors have used the test (benchmark) data instances from the electronic public library of the QAP instances-QAPLIB , as well as the papers by De Carvalho et_al and Drezner et_al (see also ).
