Contrast volume-to-estimated glomerular filtration rate ratio as a predictor of short-term outcomes following transcatheter aortic valve implantation

HIGHLIGHTS

  • What: The authors aimed to investigate the impact of contrast volume administered normalised to estimated (CV/eGFR) on the development of AKI and on 30-day all-cause mortality in TAVI patients. Subsequently, the area under the ROC curve (AUC) of each multivariate model was calculated to assess its performance. In the analysis , the authors have shown that contrast volume in isolation is not predictive of significant clinical events, whereas patients with CV/eGFR ≥ 3.6 have over double the odds of peri-procedural AKI and over five-fold the odds of 30-day allcause mortality.
