- What: This study examines gaps in existing policies regarding the initial interactions with armed counterparts and offers practical recommendations for improvement. The analysis focuses on seven URT axioms: verbal communication nonverbal expressiveness information seeking intimacy levels reciprocity similarity and liking. This analysis evaluates how current policy addresses overcoming uncertainty and explores past experiences, focusing on negotiators` initial interactions with NSAGs as they relate to the URT`s seven propositions. The aim of this tool is to assist humanitarian negotiators in improving predictability during initial meetings with armed actors.
