• What: The analysis is organized according to the themes identified in the data, as summarized in Table 1 below, which shows the frequency of occurrences of each emoticon type. The expressive act, as defined by Searle , explains the type of emotions dispensed in the context because this study focuses on the many emotions conveyed by participants through the usage of iconic features such as verbal emoticons in their Facebook statuses and walls.
