  • What: The aim of this work was to quantify the effect of school closure during the first year of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic in Switzerland. The authors wish to determine the impact of school closures for COVID-19 control in Switzerland though the methods are applicable to other countries. This work provides an insight into how control measures can be incorporated in endemic-epidemic models through the inclusion of time-varying contact matrices. The authors focus on those measures which have the aim to decrease contact.
