Behaviour and design of extruded high-strength aluminium alloy shs beam-columns

HIGHLIGHTS

  • What: The experimental data were employed in the investigation to assess the validity of the numerical model which was subsequently subjected to a series of parametric analyses aimed at expanding the existing results across a wider spectrum of slenderness ratios cross-section dimensions and load combinations. In the model, the 8-node linear brick element C3D8I was utilized, with a global element size of 2t×2t mm and 2 layers of elements in the thickness direction, which was consistent with prior numerical studies on AA SHS members .
