  • What: The authors aim to differentiate whether acute stress levels impact the expression of agreement with existing CTs or the adoption of conspiracy explanations in response to novel information. In so doing, the authors investigate whether acute stress is a factor that increases the likelihood of adopting a conspiracy explanation when encountering a new situation (Duch, 2021). A preregistered sensitivity analysis was conducted to assess the robustness of the main findings.
