HIGHLIGHTS
- What: This study investigated the impact of shyness on the academic achievement of 291 Bahraini EFL students and examines how gender may moderate this relationship. By focusing on shyness`s effects on academic achievement, the research aims to fill gaps in the literature and inform future educational practices, ultimately contributing to better learning outcomes. The study reveals that the three components of shyness combined explain 11.6% of the variance in students` academic achievement, indicating that shyness can predict Bahraini EFL students` academic performance.
