- What: The aim of this study was twofold; to provide further support for the need to screen for early functional changes in older adults and to look for an early decline in mobility and cognition. The authors assessed the association between gait speed decline and the presence of brain dysfunction by analysing the EEG at rest. The authors aim to incorporate in future research studies, the simultaneous acquisition of brain electrical activity during walking tasks which was not possible in this investigation. The prevalence of lower gait values in the study compared to the literature is puzzling . . .
