- What: The authors explore the possibility of an area having self-sufficiency. Exploring the possibilities of self-sufficiency of energy and water sources the authors focused on a relevant case study on the region of North Euboea , the authors have collected data that, however, contain uncertainties due their stochasticity and complexity; therefore, the results are presented as an order of magnitude. Given the stresses already present in terms of crops and agriculture, the study focused on the role of hydropower (conventional or pumped storage) and batteries in this regard.
