Personalized cutoffs for the diagnosis of neutropenic fever based on patients` baseline body temperature: a retrospective pilot study

  • What: The authors examine the relationships between the change of body temperature from the baseline temperature of patients admitted for neutropenic fever and various characteristics of their hospitalizations, such as initial severity of the illness, neutropenia level of admission, fever persistence, neutropenia persistence, identification of infectious etiology for the fever, and the length of hospital stay. The authors provide a literature review of relevant published studies.
