Comparative study of two thoracic external beam radiotherapy regimen 30gy in 10 fractions versus 20gy in 5 fractions for palliation of symptoms in non-small cell lung cancer

  • What: Eligibility Criteria Patients included in this study had histopathologically or cytologically confirmed NSCLC suitable for radicle treatment because of documented metastatic disease (stage IV) and intrathoracic symptoms (cough, dyspnea, hemoptysis, chest pain), and an ECOG performance status of 1 to 3. In this study, patients were assessed across various demographic and clinical factors, including risk factors, histological types, and presenting symptoms. This study shows that both 20 Gy in 5 fractions and 30 Gy in 10 fractions of palliative thoracic radiotherapy (RT) are effective in alleviating symptoms in patients with advanced non-small cell lung cancer . . .
