The dialectical relationship between burnout and work engagement: a network approach

HIGHLIGHTS

• What: The authors introduce network analysis to investigate the relationship between burnout and work engagement. The authors demonstrate its utility by comparing the fit indices of the network model and three factor models in cross-national sample with employees from Norway and employees from the the authors and UK. Theoretically, the authors provide the first initial test and model that accounts for the possibility of a dialectical relationship. Empirically, the authors provide a new approach for modeling the relationship between burnout and work engagement (Leon et_al, 2015) and a novel approach for future research to examine theories . . .
