Clozapine-associated adverse drug reactions in 38,349 psychiatric inpatients: drug surveillance data from the amsp project between 1993 and 2016

  • What: This study analyzes data on pharmacotherapy with clozapine and the associated adverse drug reactions (ADRs) in an inpatient setting including 38 349 patients. According to AMSP guidelines, an ADR is considered severe if one of the following reasons is met: immediate threat of the event, relevant impairment of the patient`s everyday functions, creating the need for special measures (transfer, surgery), or (for some ADRs) exceeding a quantitative limit (e_g a drop in neutrophil granulocytes to below 1.500/µl).
