  • What: The authors examine whether women`s community distance from the closest celltower influences knowledge about HIV testing facilities and the likelihood of ever been tested for HIV. The authors investigate the mechanisms through which such effects might occur to find that proximity to a cell tower increases HIV-related knowledge as well as reproductive health knowledge. The study seeks to address this knowledge gap. The authors focus on mobile connectivity instead of mobile ownership to account for the fact that phone sharing is very common in Sub-Saharan African countries .
