HIGHLIGHTS
- who: Raquel Crespo from the Department of Biochemistry, Erasmus University Center, Department of Pathology, Jagiellonian University, Poland have published the research: HibeRNAtion: HIV-1 RNA Metabolism and Viral Latency, in the Journal: (JOURNAL)
- what: This study showed that host RNA binding proteins SRP14 (splicing regulator) and HMGB3 bind TIM TAM and modulate Tat gene_expression and function and can act as positive (SRP14) or negative (HMGB3) regulators of HIV-1 viral production . The aims to reverse HIV-1 latency (shock) followed by promoting viral clearance of reactivated cells (kill) (Deeks, 2012; Deeks et_al, 2021).
