SUMMARY
To overcome this problem, a Monte Carlo-based simulation procedure for damage stability problems was developed over the years which treats damage stability as a stochastic process. This inverted method is based on the concept that instead of assuming a damage case and calculating the related probabilities, it is much more efficient to assume a damage extent and to compute the outcome of that particular damage extent, which can be most efficiently solved by a classical Monte Carlo Simulation technique.
