SUMMARY
Diabetes mellitus is one of the main risk factors for a severe prognosis in patients with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). The authors conducted an observational retrospective cohort study in patients with type 2 diabetes_mellitus hospitalized for COVID-19 at "Federico II" University Hospital of Naples (Italy) from November 2021 to May 2022. The diagnosis of type 2 diabetes_mellitus was based on the definitions and criteria of the current Diabetes Guidelines.
