Rare earth element identification and quantification in millimetre-sized ryugu rock fragments from the hayabusa2 space mission

SUMMARY

    For the low-Z elements this corresponds to a few tens of micrometre (e_g, and amp;lt; 100 µm for Ca-Kα), whereas for the higher Z elements this increases to several millimetre (e_g, and amp;lt; 1.5 cm for La-Kα), limited by the actual sample thickness at the given primary X-ray beam position. The REE enrichments of apatite grain 1 of Ryugu fragment A0055 (A0055 Pt1), roughly 250-300 times greater than the mean CI REE concentrations, are not only noticeably higher than the REE concentrations of the other two . . .
