Probing the quadrupole transition strength of $sideset{^{15}}{}{mathop { m c}}$ via deuteron inelastic scattering

SUMMARY

    As the neighbor of 16 C, 15 C is a well-known one-neutron halo nucleus with the valence neutron occupying the 2s1/2 orbital in the ground_state. The quadrupole transition between its ground_state (5/2+ ) and first excited_state (1/2+ ) is also a single-particle transition similar to 15 C. Two states are clearly isolated in the spectra, which correspond to the ground_state and the first excited_state (0.74 MeV) of 15 C. The authors summarize the NCCI results in Table I. A simple three-point exponential extrapolation was used for the ground_state . . .
