SUMMARY

    Large population-based studies have shown an association between rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and chronic kidney diseases with a reported prevalence ranging from 5-50%. The most common renal injury described in JIA patients is amyloidosis, a complication usually associated with the systemic onset disease and with long disease duration. The aim of this study was to investigate whether JIA children show signs of early renal function alterations compared to healthy controls and to establish the possible relationship with disease activity and treatment.
