SUMMARY
Supporting a necromone hypothesis, Yao et_al experimentally confirmed that terrestrial isopods are deterred by chemical substances (mainly linoleic acid) released by smashed terrestrial isopods (mainly their conspecifics). The similarity in turn alternation of distantly related species of terrestrial isopods suggests evolutionary conservation of these antipredator . . .
