  • what: The authors demonstrate that mathematical modeling using CFD can predict the location and accurately quantify the PVL. The authors identified a patient that underwent a balloon expandable TAVR which post-procedurally was identified with moderate PVL. The models have shown high sensitivity and specificity in detecting PVL with ex-vivo implants in 3D printed phantoms (Reiff et_al, 2020).
