SUMMARY
Though crime fiction and translation have long been closely interlinked, a specific interest for translation scholars in the translation of the crime fiction genre has developed only recently. The close links between translation and crime fiction are not only evident in today`s global dissemination of this genre1 through translation, but translation has also played a vital part in the formation of the genre itself.
