SUMMARY
Whereas national level prioritisation of research is useful in selecting general areas of focus nationally, it does not identify what research should be undertaken within these areas. Research in rheumatic and musculoskeletal disease (RMD) spans broad and diverse areas, with research priorities largely driven by individual researcher/research group interests and expertise. Seeking stakeholder perspectives is critical to informing research priorities to focus research resources in key areas.
