SUMMARY
The first prospective study evaluating diagnostic yield on sequential TBCB and surgical lung biopsy (SLB) was the CryoPID study. The investigators performed both TBCB and SLB during the same procedure in 21 patients and found poor pathologic concordance between the techniques (agreement 38%, kappa 0.22). In this study, 65 patients with ILD had sequential TBCB and SLB during a single procedure after screening through a multidisciplinary discussion (MDD).
