- what: The authors report the atomic-level ab initio structure determinations of microcrystals by combining 3D electron diffraction (3D ED) and environmental transmission electron microscope (TEM). The authors propose a method, called environmental 3D ED, by placing single microcrystals into various conditions including cryo, heating, gas environments and liquids, and collecting 3D ED data under low electron dose conditions and continuous crystal tilting mode.
