HIGHLIGHTS
- who: Orla T. Cox and colleagues from the National Autonomous University of Mexico, Mexico have published the paper: PDLIM2 is highly expressed in Breast Cancer tumour-associated macrophages and is required for M2 macrophage polarization, in the Journal: (JOURNAL)
- what: Although this study was focused on alveolar macrophages/myeloid cells and did not address activation of M1 or M2 populations specifically, it demonstrates that PDLIM2 is critical for macrophage function and differentiation in response to a carcinogenic stimulus, and that the presence of PDLIM2 alters the profile of macrophages in the tumour microenvironment.
