According to the World Disaster Report data released in 2016, floods are the top global disaster occurrence at 43%, causing huge fatalities and economic losses. Langsa City on the east coast of Aceh Province is one of Indonesia`s urban lowland and coastal communities in the region are threatened by floods, caused by increased tidal floods frequency because of climate change and sea-level rise.
