SUMMARY
Tissue morphogenesis requires cellular activities such as cell shape changes (Leptin, 1994; Lye and Sanson, 2011; Kong et_al, 2017; Lv et_al, 2019). Cells change their shape by autonomously generating intracellular mechanical forces (Roh-Johnson et_al, 2012; Blanchard et_al, 2018) and_(or) responding to external mechanical forces from neighboring cells within the tissue; or by forces from the neighboring tissues (Bhide et_al, 2021).
