    Epidemiologic data consistently demonstrate a direct linear relationship between elevated body mass index (BMI) and blood pressure: as weight increases, blood pressure increases. Correspondingly, the blood pressure lowering effect on weight loss also appears to be linear, with higher achieved weight loss resulting in greater decline in blood pressure. Although there are no published RCTs of liraglutide 3.0 mg / day specifically among patients with obesity and hypertension, it was associated with reduction in blood pressure in phase 3 trials among patients with obesity.
