    Studies have found that shelterbelts may lead to or exacerbate water resource conflicts (Xi et_al, 2013; Fu et_al, 2016, 2020), and decrease water use efficiency (WUE) and yield of adjacent crops (Li et_al, 2010; He et_al, 2016; Liu et_al, 2020).
