    The state of stress on beam surfaces is governed by Cauchy`s traction-stress relation, resulting in non-vanishing transverse stresses (Balduzzi et_al 2016, 2017a, b, c, d, 2019; Mercuri et_al 2020; Hodges et_al 2008, 2011; Vilar et_al 2021a, b). Bleich derived the shear stress of linearly tapered beams based on a generalization of the parabolic shear stress distribution of prismatic beams, also known as Jourawski`s formula (Jourawski 1856). Boley, using Airy`s stress function, examined the limits of a linear longitudinal stress distribution in non-prismatic beams under pure bending, and concluded . . .
