- how: When listening to oral sentences that were rendered anomalous by pragmatic semantic or syntactic violations results indicated that healthy controls and patients with schizophrenia but without thought disorder took longer to recognize target words (in this case the direct object of the verb) preceded by linguistic anomalies compared with words in normal sentences.
