    While CLE peptides almost exclusively bind and signal through members of the RLK subfamily XI, the co-receptors are from other subfamilies (Poliushkevich et_al, 2020; Furumizu et_al, 2021). RLKs can form homomers at the plasma_membrane and interact with CLV2-CRN heteromers in the absence of the peptide ligand; notably, these preformed complexes cluster after CLE peptide binding (Bleckmann et_al, 2010; Somssich et_al, 2015 . . .
