Kawasaki Disease (KD) is a systemic vasculitis of unknown etiology that predominantly affects infants and children under 5 years old. South Korea and Taiwan have also reported a high annual incidence of KD (194.7 and 82.8/100,000 children and amp;lt; 5 years respectively). Studies from the United_States, United Kingdom, and Canada have demonstrated that the incidence of KD is higher among children of Asian descent compared with other ethnicities.
