Novel pyrazolothienopyridinones as potential gabaa receptor modulators

HIGHLIGHTS

  • who: Blanca Angelica Vega Alanis from the Institute of Applied Synthetic Chemistry, TU Wien, Getreidemarkt, Vienna, Austria have published the article: Novel pyrazolothienopyridinones as potential GABAA receptor modulators, in the Journal: (JOURNAL)

SUMMARY

Fig 1 shows the binding_site of the endogenuous ligand GABA at the α-/β + binding_site, besides alternative binding_sites for benzodiazepines (Bz) and pyrazoloquinolinones (PQ). Besides those binding_sites, additional possible binding_sites have been identified which allow several ligand classes to interact with this family of receptors as well, making them highly promiscuous. The complex structure of this receptor makes it a challenging task . . .
