SUMMARY
This paper1 problematizes the métier of the literacy teacher, with special attention to the teaching gestures and teaching resources, from the analysis of data constructed with a group of literacy teachers. In an analogy with the notions of gesture of métier and teacher`s métier (teaching work or craft) elaborated by the authors of Work Psychology, the authors highlight the teaching gesture to specify an aspect of the teaching activity. By understanding that "teaching work cannot be reduced to teaching, nor does the practice in the classroom exhaust all teaching practices . . .
