SUMMARY
As of June of 2022, the COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in over one million deaths by infection in the United_States. The authors examine the relationship between unemployment and access to statin medicines during the initial phase of the COVID19 pandemic in the United_States. Empirically, the authors analyze the relationship between longitudinal year-to-year changes (2020 vs. 2019) in statin sales at the state/week level against analog unemployment changes.
