Study Area Kea belongs to the Cyclades island group and is located 19.5 km off the mainland of Attica (Map 1). The authors collected samples from a great spectrum of ecosystems, including shrublands (phrygana, maquis or mixed), oak forests, riparian vegetation around streams, cultivations, urban and peri-urban areas.
