    All conventional electrodialysis IEMs were heterogeneous and consisted of an inert binder (polyethylene) and particles of ion-exchange_resin (samples 1-5, Table 1). The main difference between the MA-41 membrane and the Ralex AMHPES and Ralex AMHPP membranes was the particle size of the ion-exchange_resin.
