    Technological advances in sequencing technology have made routine genotyping more affordable and GBS (Elshire et_al, 2011; Poland et_al, 2012) has been instrumental in genetic characterization of IWG germplasm (Bajgain et_al, 2020a; Crain et_al, 2021a). Combined with a draft genome (https://phytozome-next.jgi.doe.gov/info/ Tintermedium_v2_1), genetic_maps (Kantarski et_al, 2017), and mapping populations (Altendorf et_al, 2021; Larson et_al, 2019; Zhang et_al, 2017), the NPGS IWG accessions provide an opportunity to examine both phenotypic and genetic diversity within the species as domestication leads to new crop development.
