SUMMARY
A common definition of gamification is "the use of game design elements in nongame contexts". Many studies in the literature have reported the multiple benefits of gamification, such as helping students internalize a topic on a deeper level; providing immediate feedback, incorporating a role-playing aspect that brings students into new environments and situations; and empowering students when they achieve the goals of the given activities.
