SUMMARY
The very-low- to low-frequency (VLF/LF) monitoring of the lower ionosphere is an effective and simple technique for probing this part of the atmosphere, especially for detecting ionospheric disturbances caused by various terrestrial and extra-terrestrial 2 of 32 extreme events, e_g_[1-4].
