SUMMARY

    The international diabetes federation (IDF) estimated that the number of adults (aged 20-79 years) with diabetes will increase from 463 million in 2019 to 700 million in 2045. Health economic decision models are used to inform health policy decision making concerning diabetes management. Subsequent model applications may require transfer to other settings and time periods. Diabetes health economic decision models are mainly used to estimate the cost-effectiveness of treatments.
